"It is a true gift that Shadowcan is a fair distance away from the other clans," Ebonstar chuckled almost delightfully. Her gaze pierced the darkened Empty Plains, cutting through the night air like a jagged blade. "Riverclan, Thunderclan, and Windclan with their abilities to swim, have great bravery, and inherit swiftness are quick to blame and therefore suspicious. Always made things difficult they did." The cat purred softly, lifting a large paw to scratch behind her ear. "But no matter. In the end they'll see Shadowclan's power."
Her large form moved forward, tail swaying with a stiff elegance and her ears swiveling about as if they had a mind of their own. Though the clan leader was relaxed, she couldn't help but want to be cautious even in her own lands. The other clans could not know. No, it would be too risky. "They'd have my neck for sure at the next meeting at Fourtrees." She sighed and finally stopped in the center of the plains, sitting after a moment of staring at the sky.
"The clan will grow. When we flourish then this disgusting peace shall end. The rivers will weep and the forests will shake, but there will be battle even if it brings my death. There will be others. There will be a strong cat to take my place, but I just have to wait for this certain feline to stray here first." Ebonstar nodded and chuckled again, this time a hint of seriousness in it.

All seems still on the plains.. Wait- what was that? Ebonstar had caught a glimpse of silver fur to the north.. The wind changed direction, bringing the smell of an unfimiliar cat to her.. From the scent she can determine it's a tom, and he carries the scent of the thunderpath and you can also catch a whiff of riverclan- though it's not very distinctive..

Ebonstar's eyes narrowed and she leaped into a run toward the tom. Thoughts, some of whether she should greet the newcomer or give him the cold shoulder, whirled through her mind, most of them negative. "What is it that you seek here," she growled icily, stopped about five fox-lengths away from the silver tom. "If you are a messenger speak your purpase, and if you are a loner prove your intentions are worthy of my time." Her words were viciously spat, as if she were speaking to little more then an insect in the dirt.

The tom watched the large cat with aprehensivness. She was a lot bigger then him.. Then his tail flicked casually and he sat down, cleaning his whiskers,"Just a loner, and I'm not doing anything wrong here. Merely pokeing around.."

"Poking is right," she growled, tail twitching irritantly. "If you have no actual business to speak of, then possibly you were sent by one of the other clans. Those who trust not. You are odd, if not foolish, to think that I will allow you to wander freely on the lands on my clan." The dark cat overlooked him, her eyes still slits of distaste.

Slowly RedBurn approached the cat, Ebonstar. His strawberry fur was quite a sight. His green eyes watched curiously at the cat's every move. Walking up to her he said, "Hello leader of ShadowClan, I am RedBurn, your new deputy. It is a pleasure to meet you. Is there anything I can do for you?"
He bowed his head to the leader. His green eyes again curiously wondered around the scene. A great place to live he thought to himself. Yes it would be nice living here.
